March marks International Macaque Day, a time to celebrate Singapore’s long-tailed macaques. Through initiatives like the JGIS Monkey Guards Programme, trained volunteers help reduce human–macaque conflict by deterring monkeys from homes and sharing knowledge about macaque behaviour. Education and community action are key to building a future where people and wildlife live together in harmony.
